I wasn't able to go on last months outing and I'm getting kinda fidgety! I think I'll head up to the American tomorrow and scout things out for our outing on the 19th......Don't worry, I'll leave some for the club!!

Joe, surprisingly, the water was higher than when Gary, George, and I went in Dec. I had to keep resetting my Bazooka between buckets due to dropping water levels. I was between the bridge and the confluence which might explain it. I didn't do very well there so on the 19th. I'm going up the N. fork. I'll have my Hogpan by then and I think I won't even set a sluice. I always process my cons at home anyway. The water temp was chilly but refreshing on a hot day so tennis shoes worked out just fine all day.

Joel, It should only take a couple of hours if you get on the road early.

Joel, from Walnut Creek (with minimal traffic at the wee hours of the morning) it takes just over 2 hours to get there.
Comparable time/distance as going to the Bear River public access.

Well it was a hot day on the river. Plus the construction in Sac made it a pain to get up there early. Took us about an hour to get around the construction. Looks like we might have got tiny flakes, but still have cons to run. All in all a nice day, just wish it was a little less hot.
