Hello Fellow Prospectors,

This is member Jeff Arnold from Hercules.

I have a 47 acre claim in Pollock Pines at camp creek. I was there for the first time last friday and found some flakes and one picker from test panning.

I was thinking about going back this Friday (9/18) and was wondering if

any members are interested in going.

I might be interested, that's up near Grizzly Flat,? Im going to the outting at Bear River on Saturday, so that might be something to do before I go to the Outting to camp. Let me know what you think.

Its about 20-miles east of Placerville off highway 80. My thinking is we could meet at the Sky Park Road exit around 9am. T claim is about 20-minutes from there. Its on US Forestry property with a hike of 1.5 miles (downhill) from the parking area to the creek.

It’s easy going down, but the first mile back up is mostly uphill with a few level areas, I usually take a few breaks coming back up, and pack light to ease the load: water boots, pan, hand shovel and pick, a couple bottles of water, and a snack.

Nope, smooth wide trail, if the USFS didnt gate the road, I could drive right to the claim, except the last 100ft is a little steep.

Man, I've never had any luck around that area, all the way up into the crystal basin. I know of another GPAA member who swear by a creek up in the area, I met him on the GPAA claim on the upper Consumnes. I'd be interested in checking it out with you, sounds like the perfect place for my Rotapan...just not this weekend. Let me know the next time you're heading up that way & maybe we can meet up.
