I talked to Linda? in the Sonora office (Groveland was constant busy signal). She said fire danger is high but campfires were allowed in designated campsites in the Stanislaus Forest. I said like the ones with a fire ring and Forest Service toilets? and she said yes that's ok. Anybody know othewise because I don't want to cut and haul wood if she's wrong or was mislead by my description. I have printed up a bunch of fire permits which you need to run a cook stove! I'm offline until later tonight but speak up if you know anymore than I do.

Thanks!

I was there on July 6th with the Fire Danger High and there were no charcoal pits or campfires allowed. May have changed though.

The ranger offices just after Groveland will post the dangers and if fires are permitted.

Due to the message in the 155 heads up post, I aborted the mission and will do a multi-day at the 154 next month.
