I'm 65-years-old. I'm a retired Nuclear Engineer (I've also held positions as a mechanical engineer and environmental engineer with degrees from Berkeley and UC Davis) . I worked for the Federal Government for 31 years. I'm a Vietnam Veteran (67-68). I started placer mining in around 1969 when I took a geology class. My hobbies (I should say advocation because I'm out every day) are metal detecting and placer mining. I have a cab over camper mounted on my Dodge Diesel and spend a lot of time exploring California and the western states. I went on a month long metal detecting trip this summer during which time I visited 8 states. I like to both land and water detect, and have my skin diving equipment for snorkling in the colder rivers with my underwater detector (Minelab Excaliber II). I'd like to get together with the EBGP club and attend some their outtings. Sound like real fun with a great bunch of people.
